Blow bars are the most crucial wear parts in a HSI impact crusher that break big feed materials into smaller sizes. It is vertically mounted on the rotor and runs in a very high speed with the rotor. The objects feed from the open inlet of impactor are hit by the blow bars towards the impact plates which are mounted on the aprons and bounced back. The objects are shattered and size reduced during this process and discharged from the outlet of impactor.
Due to this working principle, the blow bars withstand huge impact force and harsh abrasion during the crushing process. Hence, it is very important the select the right and reliable blow bars for impact crusher. Good blow bars will last as long as possible and don’t break.
Europe Parts supply the blow bars in OEM equivalent quality and also site-specific alloy solution for primary or secondary crushers to reduce downtime:
- Chrome white iron
- Chrome with ceramic
- Martensitic/low chrome steel
- Martensitic/low chrome with ceramic
- Manganese steel
- Manganese steel with Titanium carbides (TIC) inserts
- Customized alloys for specific applications
Replacement blow bars available for Mesto, Terex, Powerscreen, Finlay, Kleemann, Rubblemaster, Hazemag, Sandvik, McCloskey, Lippmann, Tesab and ect impact crushers. (The brands are for reference purpose, doesn’t mean that Europe Parts supplies the OEM and Genuine parts of the brands)
Blow bars are originally manufactured in a foundry. The ferrous materials are melted, poured into sand patterns and the shapes of blow bar castings are then created. After proper heat-treatment, grinding, machining, inspections and packages, they are mechanically qualified to be installed and used for an impact crusher.
Blow bars are conventionally made of chrome, martensitic and manganese mono-alloys.
MMC (Metal Matrix Composite) technology is a trending wear solution that embeds hard industrial ceramics into the wear areas of a blow bar to improve its wear resistance performance, reducing downtime and increasing the productivity of crushers. MMC blow bars are 2-4 times longer service life than the mono-alloy, and theoretically productivity be increased by 5-10 percent per hour.
The mono-alloys and also MMC blow bars for customers:
- Chrome white iron
- Chrome with ceramic
- Martensitic/low chrome steel
- Martensitic/low chrome with ceramic
- Manganese steel
- Manganese steel with Titanium carbides (TIC) inserts
- Customized alloys for specific applications
How to select the right blow bars for your crushers? Following should be taken into consideration for choosing the right blow bars:
- What is the materials crushed and how hard is it?
- How big is the feeding size?
- Is the material cubic shape or plate-like?
- Any tramp iron or unbreakable objects contained?
Following is the guidance for blow bars selection or please contact us for an advice if you are not sure about the selections.
Matrix Alloy | Inserts | Wear life | Feeding size | Tramp iron | Typical application |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Chrome | No | Long | smaller than 300mm | Not allowed | Limestones, Asphalts |
Chrome | Ceramic | 2 to 3 times of Chrome | smaller than 300mm | Not allowed | Asphalts, Granites, River pebbles |
Martensitic | No | Shorter than Chrome | smaller than 600mm | Steel rebar allowed | Rubbles, Concretes |
Martensitic | Ceramic | 2 to 3 times of Martensitc | smaller than 600mm | Steel rebar allowed | Rubbles, Concretes |
Manganese | No | Shorter than Martensitc | bigger than 600mm | Allowed | Blasted limestones |
Manganese | Titanium carbides | 1-2 times of Manganese | bigger than 600mm | Allowed | Blasted limestones |
