Lamella Clarifier
Separate fine solids within a coordinated water circuit.
The lamella clarifier is the separation stage in a WRS system. It receives conditioned wash water, collects clarified water for process reuse and directs settled solids to the sludge circuit.
Select from the water and solids duty.
Flow alone does not define the clarifier. Particle-size distribution, solids concentration, clay variability and flocculation behaviour determine whether the proposed arrangement is suitable. Representative settling tests are assessed with the solids load and operating schedule.
Integrate with the WRS family.
WRS 25 and WRS 50 use one lamella unit each. WRS 100 has two parallel 50 m³/h branches. WRS 150 uses a 120 m³/h treatment basis for a 150 m³/h washing circuit. These are selection references, not guaranteed rates for every wash water.
Plan cleaning and sludge removal.
Access to lamella packs, the sludge outlet and isolation points is addressed in the layout. Sludge must be removed at the rate it is generated. Increasing water flow does not resolve accumulated solids.

Frequently asked questions
Does a clarifier replace a filter press?
The clarifier produces concentrated sludge. Producing a sludge cake requires a separately evaluated dewatering stage.
Can it be retrofitted?
Retrofit suitability depends on flow, water tests, available volumes, pipe levels and the sludge-removal route.
